When a page of noocene.org is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects the following data for technical delivery of the website and stores them in server logs:

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technically error-free delivery of the website and in detecting and repelling abusive access).

Storage period: Vercel generally stores technical logs for a short period (typically a few hours up to a maximum of 30 days); for details see the Vercel Privacy Policy.

2.2 E-mail contact

If you contact us by e-mail at office@noocene.org or another address given in the legal notice, the data you transmit (in particular e-mail address, name, content of the message) are processed exclusively for handling your query.

Storage period: The data are deleted as soon as the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention duties oppose deletion.

2.3 Audience measurement with Umami (self-hosted)

For capturing general usage statistics (page views, time on page, approximate country of origin, browser and operating-system types used), noocene.org uses the open-source tool Umami in a self-hosted instance at the address umami.digioneer.pro. Umami is operated here by the same controller as this platform; no transmission to third parties takes place.

Umami dispenses entirely with cookies and with personal profiles. Instead of the IP address itself, a daily rotated, anonymised hash value is generated, from which a single session key is derived; a re-identification of concrete persons from it is not possible. Personal data within the meaning of the GDPR are not processed in the context of this audience measurement.

Data points collected:

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a privacy-friendly, statistical audience measurement for improving the offering).

Storage period: Aggregated, non-personal statistics are retained for evaluation purposes without time limit; session-specific hash values are invalidated after 24 hours.

Further information: Umami project and how it works.
